You may have noticed I haven't been posting as many looks up as I used to. I've been suffering from make-up creative block. Until recently, I hadn't seen much to inspire me to do new looks. That changed when I saw these pictures of actress Ginnifer Goodwin at the Oscars after party.
So I tried to recreate it...
I have to say this was the most difficult relatively-simple look I've done in ages. I hadn't done a bold look in so long, it was like I was learning how to use make-up all over again. Plus, a fair amount of my makeup is in storage, so I didn't have the perfect colours and so had to mix and match. I think it turned out ok. Hopefully you'll like it!

It took me a while, but I realised (apart from not being her makeup artist/using the same products) one reason my final look doesn't look like hers is that she's wearing insanely feathery false eyelashes. I love you all, but not enough to stick falsies to my eyelids late at night solely for the purpose of a blog post (sorry!).
How-To:
- Apply Urban Decay eyeshadow in Kinky (from the Smoked Palette) under the eyebrow and close to the bridge of the nose;
- Apply Urban Decay eyeshadow in Echo Beach to the inner 1/3 of the mobile lid and apply Nevermind to the inner 1/2 of the crease (both from the Vice Palette);
- Apply blue eyeshadow (Column 6, Row 6) from the Coastal Scents 88 Ultra Shimmer Palette to the middle of the mobile lid, blending in with the Echo Beach;
- Apply Evidence to the outer third of the mobile lid; layer Backdoor over it and blend out beyond the natural eyelid with Blackout (all from the Smoked Palette);
- Apply Smog from the Naked Palette to the outer perimeters of the eye look and blend in to the crease;
- Apply Smog to the lower lash line and add some Lovey Dovey (from the Too Faced Shadow Bon Bons Palette) over it.
- Basically, I had finished this look using just Smog and then took a photo of it and found it looked too golden- Ginnifer's look has a bit of a brownish-reddish tint to it, so I tried to tone down the gold in Smog a bit. It worked, but it still wasn't the same colour Ginnifer wore.
- Tightline with Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On eye pencil in Perversion and;
- Add lots of black mascara.
