Hello!
You may have noticed I haven't been posting as many looks up as I used to. I've been suffering from make-up creative block. Until recently, I hadn't seen much to inspire me to do new looks. That changed when I saw these pictures of actress Ginnifer Goodwin at the Oscars after party.
So I tried to recreate it...
I have to say this was the most difficult relatively-simple look I've
done in ages. I hadn't done a bold look in so long, it was like I
was learning how to use make-up all over again. Plus, a fair amount of
my makeup is in storage, so I didn't have the perfect colours and so had
to mix and match. I think it turned out ok. Hopefully you'll like it!
Make-up looks, tips and tricks with a focus on beautiful and creative eye make-up. Honest product reviews on a wide range of products-everything from budget beauty buys to high end, limited edition products.

New Year's Eve 2012/13 Eye Look
Hello!
Happy New Year! To kick off the new year, I thought I'd share my eye look from last night/ this morning. I usually go all out on New Year's Eve but this year I decided to skip the falsies and make my eye look more interesting with smaller details you'd miss if you weren't looking closely. It's mixed metals, graphic eyeliner and lots of shimmer and glitter.

Halloween Special
Hello!
Do you celebrate Halloween? I usually don't. It's not a traditional holiday here, it's something that's been imported from the US in recent years. I'm way too lazy to get a good costume, so for the most part, I don't bother. There is ONE exception. I have always loved the insanely dramatic eye makeup Elizabeth Taylor had as Cleopatra. Despite not celebrating this myself, I am majorly procrastinating right now and I decided to replicate the look (as best I could). Now that I'm done, I feel like this is wasted effort and kind of wish there was a Halloween party I could go to tonight :-(

Look: Black and Silver
Hello!
I realised I've been all about the reviews lately and haven't posted up an eye look in ages.
Today's eye look was done was done using the Coastal Scents 88 Ultra Shimmer Palette and Urban Decay's amazing matte black eyeshadow, Blackout. This is a dramatic look I wore out to a birthday party. I hope you like it!

Harry Potter Series_Ravenclaw
Hello!
It's time for my final instalment in the Harry Potter eye look series- Ravenclaw! The House colours are blue and bronze. It took me ages to get around to doing this look, mainly because of my intense discomfort with blue eyeshadow, but also because I just had no inspiration!
Ravenclaw's symbol is the eagle and that conjures up feelings of sharp, strong lines for me. I guess it's the beak. This look similarly contains sharply defined areas.

Tropical Blue and Purple Eyes
Hello!
I'm back with an eye look incorporating a bright blue . I have to admit, I've been working on overcoming my aversion to blue eyeshadow. I've never been one for playing around with the stuff, mainly for fear I'll end up looking like some 70s/80s disaster a la:
(Side Note: Notice how makeup companies have been selling the same stuff as "new" for over 30 years? In these ads you have long wearing liquid-to-powder eyeshadow and "creamy" powder shadows, all products we're still seeing today...unfortunately, you also have lashline to eyebrow washes of blue eyeshadow being marketed as "everyday" looks, something that's also come back into fashion recently.)
My aversion to blue eyeshadow is one of the reasons I'm having such difficulty coming up with an eye look for Ravenclaw in my Harry Potter series. But, I digress.
What did I do?

Tropical Pink Eye Look
Hello,
I've been knee-deep in very neutral eye look territory lately, so I decided to step out for a moment and try something BRIGHT!
