Bright Eye Look usng the Lime Crime Aquataenia Palette

Hello!

I just reviewed the Lime Crime Aquataenia palette and as I've said previously, I held off on reviewing it until I could think of a way to use all the colours in one eye look. The result is today's crazy bright eye look. This is definitely not an eye look for the faint of heart!

Review and Swatches: Lime Crime Aquataenia Palette.

Hello!

Do you really love brights? If so, this palette is for you! Today I am reviewing Lime Crime's Aquataenia Palette. This came out a while ago, and it's been sitting in my make-up drawer for quite a while. Why? I found the colours intimidating!

Here's the spiel:

"Aquataenia is different from all previous LC palettes because it's completely *pearlescent*. Each oceanic shade is loaded with shimmer & glitter particles to create a wet, glistening effect -- reminiscent of a mermaid's tail under the moonlight -- and makes your eyelids sparkle like the sea! Can be used on eyes or cheeks. Arrives encased in a deluxe purple tin."

New Year's Eve 2012/13 Eye Look

Hello!

Happy New Year! To kick off the new year, I thought I'd share my eye look from last night/ this morning. I usually go all out on New Year's Eve but this year I decided to skip the falsies and make my eye look more interesting with smaller details you'd miss if you weren't looking closely. It's mixed metals, graphic eyeliner and lots of shimmer and glitter.

Review and Swatches: Illamasqua Fundamental Palette

Hello!

Do you know why I have a soft spot for Illamasqua? They dropped their Australian prices to be in line with the price of their products in England, voluntarily! That gets them major brownie points with me. Today's review is on Illamasqua's Fundamental Palette.

Here's the advertising spiel:

"A startling blend of colours and textures, this bold palette is a playground for self-expression. Liquid Metal in molten pewter glistens alongside matt Cream Pigment in mint green, contrasting brevely with two bright Powder Shadow shades. Express your alter ego with a vivid display of nonconformity."

Review and Swatches: Lime Crime Alchemy Collection

Hello!

I'm back! With a vengence, I must say. Beware, this is a detail and picture heavy post!

Today's review is on the Lime Crime Alchemy Collection. This came out fairly recently, and the whole set includes the Alchemy eyeshadow palette (5 duochrome eyeshadows), two opaque lipsticks (Serpentina and Poisonberry), and a mook (it's a photoshoot mini mag, basically).

Review and Swatches: Urban Decay Vice Palette

Hello!

Have you been waiting for my promised swatches and review of the Urban Decay Vice Palette? The wait is over! This post has taken me a while to do and for good reason! This is a limited edition palette released as part of the Holiday 2012 collection and as you know, there are 20 brand new shades (new formulation, of course) in this palette. There is an absolutely fantastic range of shades. This palette contains a mix of finishes (matte, shimmer, frost and metallic) and has a great range of colours, from everyday neutrals to fun brights to dark shades perfect for an evening look.

Review: Benefit BADgal Lash Mascara

Hello!

In this post I'll be reviewing one of my favourites, Benefit's BADgal Lash mascara. The description for this product is: " The BADgal line of mascaras from Benefit are full of "BAD-itude!" The rich, sexy formula and oversized brush build thick, beautiful and bodacious lashes. BADgal Lash (the original) is like a set of sexy black false eyelashes...without the glue!"

Smoky Eye

Hello,

Following on from my review of the Smoked Palette, I've decided to do a version of the classic smoky eye.
I've been in a purple/mauve/pink beauty mood for the last week. Every look I did was soft, pretty and purple-based. Then I saw this picture of Kristen Stewart the other day (below) and I couldn't help but admire her smoky eye makeup.
It's flawless. Smoky eye, perfect skin and a neutral lip. When I do my makeup, I like to add a bit more colour to the cheeks, but that's about it.

Original pic from Just Jared, http://www.justjared.com/photo-gallery/2718897/kristen-stewart-on-the-road-nyc-screening-05/, this version cropped from http://hollywoodlife.com/2012/09/21/kristen-stewart-locket-robert-pattinson-love/

So I decided it was time for a smoky eye!

Review and Swatches: Urban Decay Smoked Palette

Hello!

Today's review is all about the Smoked Palette. This new Urban Decay palette is made up entirely of new formulation shadows and has enough colours to create a range of smoky eye looks beyond the standard black. The palette comes with a full size 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion and a mini Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original (not pictured, sorry). It also comes with the Get The Look Book which has step by step instructions on how to create 12 different smoky eye looks.
