Review and Swatches: Urban Decay Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color

I'd just been wishing I had a red as glossy lip colour like the ones I'd seen on some of the Paris S/S 13 catwalks and bam! this arrives in the mail. Perfect timing! Today I'm reviewing Urban Decay's Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color in F-Bomb. This product is accurately described by Urban Decay as having a formula which "delivers all the opaque, saturated, high-impact color of your favorite lipstick and an arresting high-gloss finish in one chubby pencil."

These chubby lip pencils have been everywhere lately and I was never too interested. I felt they would either be too dry for comfortable application or so glossy (read: soft, jelly-like and impossible to sharpen) that they couldn't possibly function in pencil form. Then I fell in love with this glossy bright red shade.

Review:

• Colour: bright blue-based red
• Pigmentation: highly pigmented- this is definitely an opaque lip colour
• Finish: gloss
• Texture: smooth and glossy, but not sticky
• Longevity: you get 3hours of perfect wear with drinking (water from a water bottle and bubbler) and eating (sandwich) and it leaves a nice glossy red stain afterwards, but eating something like stir fry noodles will get rid of it. That's pretty good for a high gloss lip colour.
• Cost: retails for USD$19

Verdict: A
This is a gorgeous opaque glossy blue-based red lip colour.
